The Chef's Library at The Coal shed is a stylish private dining suite at one of Brighton's most popular grill restaurants. The suite is available seven days a week, seats 15 diners and comes with a dedicated server. Guests can choose from a set three course menu or a feasting menu with signature sharing dishes for the whole table. The Coal Shed's reputation is high held in a city of exceptional eateries, it's produce is locally and ethically sourced and cooked using a Josper coal fired grill for seared in flavour.
Donatello is a Brighton institution, as well as winner of the BRAVO 2020 best family restaurant. Their wine room is available for private dining for parties of up to 18 guest. This popular Italian restaurant makes everything in house from fresh and offers excellent quality and value for money. Donatello is also available for private hire with the extensive venue catering for larger groups easily.
Etch is one of Brighton's top restaurants, with three AA Rosettes, a Michelin plate, a score of five in the Good Food Guide and was declared Brighton's Best restaurants in the 2019 BRAVO awards. Each dish in the ingredient led tasting menu features only two ingredients, to really hone in on the expert pairing and preparation. The Private Dining suite, Triclinium Sub Rosa is a Chef's Table experience, suitable for nine guests. The restaurant is also available for full private hire.
Located in the historic Lanes, Gars is fine Chinese cuisine at it's best. Around since 1983, they really do know what they're doing. With Pan Asian dishes on the menu too, it caters for all tastes, styles and occasions. Two function rooms with a private bar, it's the perfect place for your event. Catering for the small and intimate (up to 12) to the exciting and extravagant (up to 120).
Executive Chef Alan White offers a high-end and exclusive dining experience in one of Brighton's most iconic hotels. The private dining experience at the Grand Hotel can be hosted in a choice of four unique spaces. Each room offers it own unique ambience with luxurious decorative touches, quality British furnishing and striking features; such as the statement art mural of Brighton seafront in the George 3rd suite, or the traditional wood panelling in the Regent Room.
Kujira Brighton is the newest addition to the set of bright young things rejuvenating the Preston Street area of the city. Food here is cooked on the Robatayaki grill, creating a wonderful intense flavour in the dishes. Kujira is also an Izakaya bar, serving Japanese inspired cocktails invented by their mixologist. As well as the small but sleek restaurant upstairs there is a downstairs lounge bar featuring a karaoke booth and games consoles. This space is available for private hire, but when not booked it is a great place to unwind with some cool drinks and entertainment.

Chef Duncan Ray masterfully delivers an ever changing set menu. The Little Fish Market offers a unique intimate dining experience where dinner guests have their table for the whole night (no second covers). Exclusive hire of the restaurant is available for parties of 20.
Mange Tout can cater for private events, birthdays, weddings or other occasions on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights, or other nights if enough notice is given. They don't have a separate private dining area so the whole restaurant would be hired for a private event. Minimum spend and terms and conditions would apply.
The private dining room at Market at 42 Western Road, (called 42d Downmarket) is an upmarket space ideal for parties both small and large. Seating groups of between 10 and 28 you'll enjoy an array of benefits including the option of indulging in The Chef's Menu (a sharing feast of many of their Spanish inspired tapas and small plates), your own dedicated waiting and bar staff and you can even play your own music. Events are tailored to perfectly suit each party's needs, (Market also offers Set Menus) and there isn't even a hire charge to pay. The Flint Barns is a beautifully restored 10 roomed guest house situated in the Rathfinny Wine Estate. With its own dining room and dedicated Chef, the Flint Barns makes for a beautiful getaway which is both family and dog friendly as well as a great venue for a celebration. The high standards of The Tasting Room continues here, although the overall feel is more rustic and relaxed. This is a special place for a special occasion, or a very luxurious mini-break.
With their catchphrase of 'be more carnival', it's clear The Rum Kitchen on Black Lion Street is about more than just filling your stomach. Dining here is immersive. Live DJs at the weekend, daily cocktail happy hours and feel-good Caribbean food make this a place to party. Tucked away in the sprawling Lanes is Bohemia an all-day eatery and cocktail venue. Bohemia is a spacious bar with many areas ideally suited to host your party. The mezzanine floor is a particularly good spot to have a view down into the main central bar. The team of chefs can provide you with a buffet or canapé menu, tailored to all dietary requirements.
Brighton Cookery School offers regular classes and private events run by professional chefs. Mannings Heath Golf and Wine Estate is set in acres of beautiful countryside with views over the South Downs. The private dining rooms are decked in dark wood panelling and Tudor beams and windows and can accommodate 8 – 30 guests for tree or two-course seated dining. The vineyard is part of the Benguela Cove, meaning whatever the nature of your celebration it will be accompanied by excellent wines. The Mesmerist in Brighton's Lanes is a is a long standing favorite amongst us Brightonians and from the look of the queues that often snake outside the door here, there's a lot of magic going on inside that party-goers are keen to be captured by, time and again. With four private areas, two floors and three bars the venue has so many options available when it comes to private dining. Included in the private dining options is the new buffet menu.
Brighton's first Japanese conveyor belt style restaurant with an excellent reputation for its fresh and sustainable food. It's located in the historic Lanes area with fantastic outdoor dining: the deck, called the Hiroba, emulates sitting on tatami mats and can be hired out for private parties, wedding receptions, and as a stage for performances and product launches.
The New Inn is a Grade II listed building with spacious third-acre south facing garden. The pub is divided into several rooms, including a large function room, the original village Corn Exchange, and smaller suites suited to presentations, private dining and parties.
